Adults with congenital heart disease who underwent treatment for their congenital defect as they frequently have heart problems later in life. It is important for anyone who has undergone surgery to repair congenital defects to continue to see a cardiologist into adulthood. Heart arrhythmias are very common as are valve problems later in life. Dr. Keith Oken, a cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic, discusses adults with repaired congenital heart disease.
