Melanoma has become much more prevalent. People get half of all of their sunlight exposure as children. It is important to protect yourself with sunscreen that protects you from UVA other harmful rays. I have question. When I was younger in my teens and early adulthood I use to get sunburns, really bad. Sunscreen at that time wasnt the big thing (1964-1972). My sunburns would either leave me with blisters or I would get sick and sometimes even ran a fever or two. No, it didnt prevent me from going to the beach or anywhere else with protection. Now I have gotten two spots on my face that my dermatologist are precanerous, one was just burned off the other he did a biopsy on, nothing much he just said precancerous, so what does that mean other than you dont have cancer. He said I could have a 5% to 10% chance of getting skin cancer, seems small chance. But why should I even worry? Those are small % chances, right? BabsBumbleBee 10.3 years ago
