Description:

Dr. Joe Neely discusses the choices for antibiotic treatment for a tooth abscess. Unless a patient has an allergy to a particular antibiotic, you want to use a broad spectrum antibiotic for a tooth abscess. Amoxicillin is a common first line treatment, or another penicillin, such as Pen V K. Clindamycin is good for a long standing abscess that may involve the bone.
