Are there any reasons not to potty train a two year old? There are occasionally time when potty training is just not appropriate. If the family is going through a major change like move, divorce or sibling leaving the household its best to let things settle first before adding the stress of potty training. Its also best not to start potty training if a new baby is on its way. Some kids are very sensitive and won't train well if there is a small change.
