Description:

Symptoms of BPH include frequent urination, nocturia- getting up at night to urinate, urgency of urination, feeling like your bladder does not completely empty. Treatments includes medications. One type is an alpha blocker, which helps to dilate the prostate. Another is a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor, which can shrink the prostate. Surgical treatment includes a TURP- transurethral reduction of the prostate, laser ablation of the prostate, and enucleation of the prostate.
