Symptoms of BPH include urinary urgency, urinary frequency, and nocturia-having to urinate in the night. A PSA and an exam are necessary to rule out prostate cancer. Medications can shrink the prostate slightly, and improve the symptoms. Other treatments include TURP-trans urethral resection of the prostate.
