Description:

Breast MRI can be used in addition to screening mammogram in high risk patients. Patients are felt to be at high risk if they have a lifetime risk of 20 -25% of breast cancer. Women with the BRCA gene mutation, or a first degree relative with a BRCA gene mutation are felt to be at high risk. MRI guided biopsy can also be helpful.

so helpful to know more about screening. I have breast cancer in one breast and know that I have to have regular screenings from here on in.

I have an MRI yearly because of LCIS. Recently, I had increased blood flow in one breast but it turned out to be nothing. It gives me great peace of mind knowing I am so well taken care of.
