Description:

Colonoscopy is a very important screening test for colon cancer. This animated video shows you what to expect when you have your colonoscopy. The endoscope is a long flexible tube which allows doctors to view the colon. Biopsy or removal of a polyp can be done during colonscopy.

I had my first colonoscopy at age 45 because of a family history of colon cancer. It is not fun, but it has to be done. I have had a colonscopy about every 4-5 years, and have had about 3 polyps removed each time. Lucky for me all of the polyps have turned out to be benign.
