I am a health care practitioner, I had sudden sensorineural hearing loss myself. I was living in Hawaii at the time, and surfing, and it turned out to be a peri lymph fistula. I had 2 operations, the first in Hawaii, the second in NY. The second was now 14 years ago and my hearing loss is very stable, and I only get vertigo if I go on a cruise.
