Problems that are associated with having high cholesterol include coronary artery disease, with heart attack and angina, peripheral vascular disease in the legs, and stroke. The good cholesterol, the HDL is protective for these diseases. Exercise is key to increasing HDL. THe bad cholesterol, LDL, when high is most important in causing coronary artery disease.
