This animated video shows you what problems are associated with cystic fibrosis, which is a genetic disorder that affects the epithelial cells that line the lung, pancreas, liver, digestive tract, sweat glands, and reproductive system. A defective protein makes these people produce thick, sticky mucous which clogs the bronchial tubes-which cause cough, and in the GI tract causes problems with absorption, causing chronic diarrhea, bulky stools, and salty skin in infants.
