A key ingredient found in fish oil is the fatty acid D-H-A. In some studies it has been associated with a reduced risk of Alzheimer's disease and has been identified as a potential treatment as well. A new study shows that D-H-A fish oil does not slow the rate of cognitive or functional decline in patients already diagnosed with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
