Description:

Depression can mimick dementia in the elderly. There is quite a bit of overlap of the signs of depression and the signs of dementia. Dr. Kenneth Robbins, of the Univ. of Wisconsin, discusses how to tell the difference between depression and dementia.

Depression as people age seems to be so common. I am a health care provider and so many of my elderly patients tell me instead of the "golden years" they should call them the "piss yellow years". Many of them do need treatment for depression.
