Diabetecs commonly have problems with their eyes, including diabetic retinopathy, which can lead to blindness. Dr. Victor Elner, an opthalmologist at the Univ. of Michigan, discusses FA imaging to assess the retina. This type of imaging assesses the metabolic stress on the retina, and may be an early sign of diabetic retinopathy.
