Description:

Colon cancer is very common. 1 in 17 people will get colon cancer in their lifetime. Less than 1/2 the people who should be screened for colon cancer are screened. Dr. David Ahlquist, a gastroenterologist from the Mayo Clinic, discusses a new way to screen for colon cancer using a test that checks your DNA from stool samples. He says that the first generation test may not be useful for the general population, but a next generation test is currently being tested.
