Elasticity Imaging may be a helpful tool in the evalutation of a breast mass. By measuring the stiffness of the mass in comparison to the surrounding normal breast tissue, this tool may help determine if the mass is malignant. This is helpful to determine a benign breast mass from breast cancer. It will save some women from requiring a breast biopsy.
