Dr. Elie Haddad reviews the role of electrophysiology studies-EPS. EPS is used in the evaluation of heart rhythm disorders, loss of consciousness to assess risk of further cardiac events. Electrodes are placed through a catheter to the heart. Arrhythmias are induced to see where in the heart they originate. SVT's are rhythm abnormalities from the top chambers, and some may be ablated and cured in the same procedure.
