Description:

Emergency cardiac catheterization (heart cath) for the treatment of an acute MI- myocardial infarction or heart attack can be performed to define the anatomy of the heart arteries, and open the blocked coronary arteries with angioplasty and a stent. To save heart muscle damage from occuring, this must be performed immediately.
