Description:

Essential Thrombocythemia- ET, means too many platelets in your blood. Platelets are the type of cell involved in clotting. ET is a myeloproliferative disease, which is a group of diseases when the bone marrow make too many cells. Symptoms can be clotting, bleeding, nose bleeds, easy bruising, fatigue, bone pain, or a rash. It is diagnosed from a blood test. A bone marrow biopsy may be needed. Treatment includes aspirin, hydroxyurea, and interferon.
