Gadolinium, which is commonly used during an MRI as a contrast agent, have a new FDA warning that they can cause NSF/NFD, nephrogenic systemic Fibrosis/Nephrogenic Fibrosing Dermopathy. These are diseases which cause fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. These problems can occur from a few days to a year after receiving the contrast agent.
