Description:

Gestational DIabetes is diabetes during pregnancy. Diabetes pregnancy is more common in women over age 25 and your doctor will screen you with a glucose tolerance test if you are high risk for developing gestational diabetes. Women who develop diabetes during pregnancy are more prone to developing Type 2 diabetes later in life.

So many of my friends have developed gestational diabetes. Why is the risk so high in this generation? I have the feeling that it is not due as much to pregnancy hormones but the foods that we eat. Our nutrition and diet has so many chemicals. I am interested in studies about this.
