Help to stop smoking: Dr. J Taylor Hays, from the Nicotine Dependence Center at the Mayo Clinic, discusses the medications that are used to help people stop smoking. In addition to the nicotine patch and nicotine gum, there are the medications Bupropion and Varenicline (chantix). ALthough these medications help increase chance of stopping, side effects can be psychiatric problems, including depression.
