Description:

Type 1 Diabetes, or Juvenile Diabetes in children is caused by the bodies inability to make insulin from the pancreas. Insulin has to be injected under the skin or in a vein to be effective. So the mainstay of treatment for type 1 diabetes is insulin injection. This can be with self injections a number of times per day, or with an insulin pump placed under the skin.
