Description:

This video reviews the general treatment plan for arthritis of the knee, including conservative therapy and surgery. Conservative treatment includes weight loss, activity changes, physical therapy, walking aids or a walker, and medication. With worsening symptoms surgery is the next treatment, which is usually total knee replacement or arthroplasty can improve the pain and improve the motion of the knee.

My mother had a knee replacement and it was very painful. I think she would have been better off losing weight and trying the other options. Arthritis is scary and I am very healthy and do everything right but I worry for my future because of my genetic history.
