While the left kidney can usually be removed laparoscopically, becuase of different anatomy, the right kidney is usually removed with an open surgery. By changing some of the equipment, the right kidney can now also be removed laparoscopically. Rizk El Galley, MD. Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham.
