Age related macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness for people over 65 robbing them of their ability for central vision and quality of life. A team of researchers from the Cole Eye Institute and Lerner Research Institute's lead by John W. Crabb, Ph.D. were the first to discover and link specific proteomic biomarkers with genomic markers as an indication of susceptibility to AMD
