Description:

Mammography screening guidelines: Dr. Sandhya Pruthi, the director of the Breast Clinic at the Mayo Clinic, reviews the Mayo Clinic guidelines for screeening for breast cancer. The Mayo Clinic is still recommending yearly mammography screening, starting at age 40. This is similar to the recommendation of the American Cancer Society. This is reviewed because of a recent change in the US Preventive Services Task Force guidelines to start at age 50.

Most cancer experts I have talked to are not changing their recommendation of starting mammograms at age 40. Shame on the government!
