Meningitis, which is an inflammation of the covering of the brain and spinal cord. Commonly outbreaks occur in colleges, where kids are in close contact with one another. It can be caused by viruses and bacteria. Symptoms include stiff neck, headache, chills, fever,nausea, drowsiness, confusion and sensitivity to light. A lumbar puncture, or spinal type confirms the diagnosis. Bacterial meningitis requires antibiotics early in the course, and is very dangerous.
