Description:

Middle ear infections are very common in children. Persistent fluid in the middle ear can lead to hearing loss, so it is important to recognize these infections. These occur in children mostly due to eustacian tube dysfunction. You should see an ear specialist if there is any hearing loss or delay in speech. Many of these infections are treated with antibiotics, but some children may need ear tubes for treatment.
