Mononucleosis, or Mono, is a viral illness that is caused by the Ebstein Barr Virus. It is common in younger adults that are in close contact with others, such as in college. It is sometimes called the kissing disease for this reason. The common symptoms include: Fatigue, fever, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, abdominal pain, and an enlarged spleen in some cases.
