What is Myeloma? Dr. Morie Gertz, from the Mayo Clinic reviews multiple myeloma. Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells of the bone marrow. The first test that reveals myeloma is usually a blood test that finds an increased number of plasma cells of the blood, anemia, elevated calcium, elevated uric acid, and abnormal urine function.
