Pancreatic Necrosis: Dr. Todd Baron, a gastroenterologist at the Mayo Clinic. Pancreatic necrosis is a loss of the normal pancreatic tissue due to chronic pancreatitis. The standard treatment has been an open operation. A new minimally invasive treatment uses an endoscope to access the pancreas through the stomach to drain the material.
