Dr. Eddie Davis, an allergist at the Ochsner Clinic, discusses peanut and other food allergies. He says that once a person has an allergic reaction to food, they should be tested for other food allergies. Anaphylaxis is a potentially fatal allergic response, symptoms include hoarseness, throat tightness, a lump in the throat, wheezing, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, as well as tingling in the hands, feet, lips or scalp.
