A new study, JUPITER, showed that people with normal cholesterol, and a high CRP level benefit from treatment with a statin. CRP is a measure of inflammation that has been linked to heart disease.

I take 2.5 mg of Crestor and I think my doc is right on the money about routinely taking a Statin. Thanks so much for this study.

This is a pretty remarkable study. I am a health care practitioner, and I am going to start taking crestor!

I am a healthcare practitioner and I would never recommend taking a statin unless it is a last resort. We all know the benefits of statins. But what about the side effects. Lifestyle modification will far out weigh the benefits of drugs on a preventative level. Medications has its place in treatment not prevention. Try exercise, stress management strategies, and proper nutrition before resorting to the prescription pad. www.heartfitclinic.com
