Description:

Symptoms of a pituitary tumor include visual loss, headache, or symptoms due to production of hormones from the tumor. The most common pituitary tumor that produces hormones is a prolactinoma- which increases the production of prolactin- the hormone that controls lactation. Growth hormone secreting tumors cause excess growth, such as people with gigantism. Blood tests and an MRI diagnose the tumor.
