Diabetics are prone to developing problems with their feet for a number of reasons. First, they can develop neuropathy, which is a nerve conduction problem. This can cause symptoms of the feet, but can also cause loss of sensation, so that diabetics may not feel when there is a problem with their feet. They also develop problems with circulation, which make healing a problem. Therefore, regular foot exams are critical for diabetics.
