The treatment options for prostate cancer depend on a number of factors, including the predictors of spread- the PSA, the Gleason's Score, and the Stage of the Disease, as well as the age and health of the patient at the time of diagnosis. Observation for a slow growing tumor may be reasonable, especially in older men. Surgery, usually a prostatectomy is also used, as well as external beam radiation, and radiation seed implants.
