Dr. Mark Goodfield from the Leeds General Infirmary, discusses psoriasis. Psoriasis runs in families. The main features are the redness and scaliness of the skin rash. These red, scaly lesions are not contagious. There are topical treatments, such as lotions, but they can also be treated with UV light treatment. Refractory cases are treated with specific antibodies.
