Description:

ColoRectal Cancer: The stages of colon cancer are related to 3 factors: the depth of the cancer in the wall of the colon, spread to lymph nodes and spread to other organs. Stage 1 colon cancer means the colon cancer is only in the colon wall. Stage 2 is deeper, but doesn't involve lymph nodes, stage 3 involves the lymph nodes, and stage 4 is metastatic, commonly to the liver. Treatment includes surgery- colectomy, radiation, and chemotherapy.

You hear about so many people now getting colon cancer in their forties. Should people have colonoscopies earlier in life to screen for colon cancer?
