The mitral valve when working prevents blood from leaking back when the pumping chamber pumps blood to the body. This valve can scar- Mitral Stenosis, or leak-mitral regurgitation. Mitral valve prolapse can cause regurgitation. Symptoms may be shortness of breath, and fatigue. This valve can be repaired or replaced.
