The difference between a cold and a flu. The flu, either typical flu or the H1N1 swine flu is an illness with a rapid onset with high fever, greater than 102, chills, , sore throat, cough, runny nose, myalgias or muscle aches, headache, and fatigue or malaise. It is highly infectious, and transmits via small particles in the air.
