Description:

What is the difference between type 1 and 2 diabetes? In type 1 diabetes the pancreas no longer makes insulin, so there is a complete lack of insulin. In type 2 diabetics there is adequate insulin, but there is resistance to the insulin that is present. Type 2 diabetes is common in obese or overweight people. Diet and exercise can sometimes control the blood sugar in type 2 diabetics, if not, then oral medications frequently will.
