Description:

Sometimes people are found to have a "spot on the lung", which is commonly a tumor of the lung. If found on a chest xray, usually a CT scan is performed to look at the lung tumor better, and to see if there is spread to the lymph nodes. If a tumor is found to be lung cancer, many nodes would be removed during surgery. The usually surgery performed for cancer is a lung lobectomy.
