Dr. Rob Hicks discusses tonsilitis. Children and young teenagers are most at risk for tonsillitis. Tonsillitis causes sore throat, fever and other symptoms of infection. A tonsillectomy, which removes the tonsils, will decrease the number of infections in the throat.
