Description:

Parkinson's Disease is a disease that affects the cell in the brain that produce dopamine. People with Parkinson's do not have enough dopamine. The mainstay of medical therapy is to replace dopamine. Levo dopa or carbi-dopa are the medications which replace dopamine. There are other medication that can mimic the effect of dopamine that are also used. Nutrtitional supplements may also be helpful. Surgery can also have a role in Parkinson's disease treatment with deep brain stimulation.

A friend of my family has parkinsons disease. I think he now has the early symptoms of parkinson's. We are hoping that he doesn't get worse. When the symptoms of parkinson's are severe it looks very uncomfortable, ex Michael J Fox.
