Types of Skin Cancer: Dr. Brett Bender, a dermatologist, discusses the different types of skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type and is the easiest to cure as it rarely spreads, it appears as a raised pink bump or pimple that will not heal. Squamous cell carcinoma appears as a red lesion on a sun exposed area. Melanoma is the most worrisome and appears as a mole that changes in size, shape or color.
