Understanding cholesterol. Cholesterol is carried in the blood by lipoproteins, LDL and HDL. LDL has been referred to as the bad cholesterol, and if it is too high it can cause atherosclerosis. The HDL is commonly referred to as the good cholesterol. Video courtesty of healthguru.com
