Description:

What to expect from your upper endoscopy. Upper endoscopy, also called EGD is a small tube with a camera that looks at the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. Biopsy and cytology can be done during the EGD. If you have suspected peptic ulcer disease- ulcers, if they are prone to bleeding, they can also be treated during this procedure.
