Doctors can now offer an alternative to the usual workup of a lung mass. Instead of an open biopsy, where doctors would have to open the chest wall, a new mapping device can be used to biopsy the mass with minimally invasive techniques. This can help find out if a mass is lung cancer, or if it a benign mass.
