Virtual GI Biopsy: Dr. Michael Wallace, a gastroenterologist at the Mayo Clinic, discusses a new way to check polyps during colonscopy with a virtual biospy. During a colonscopy, this new procedure uses a small microscope to look at the cells of the polyp to see if they may be cancerous before they are removed. This may result in less polyps being unnecessarily removed when screening for colon cancer.
